We have moved our blog to sit nicely on our own web site. Odinasurf Now we can keep you up to date and as we post current styles you can be the first to see them. I think one thing to keep in mind is that Odina is striving to be as colorful and stylish as possible but with as little of an environmental impact as possible too. Our main fabric is made of recycled nylons and our accent fabrics are comprised of restyled vintage fabrics that make each pattern very rare. When new styles are released we hope you jump on the opportunity to have you own unique Odina style. Although eco is great, Fit is far more important, our styles fit every body type well. Designed for an athletic body, each style works with your curves to accent and flatter your shape. Ranging from brazilian style bottoms, In the Curl to a more of a full coverage cut, Triple Crown. Our bottoms are our speciality, although the In the Curl top is loved by all surfers and swimmers who have used it. Odina at Eco Hollywood!

Odina was recently invited to participate in Eco Hollywood Earth Day, an event to promote eco-conscious products and awareness in Hollywood. The event took place at the beautiful and LEED certified Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA.

Many celebrities came by to see what was new in the way of Eco-fashion. Odina created quite a buzz. With models trying on suits at the event people could not help but crowd around. A few short news clips were filmed, including Greenopolis, which did a great feature on Odina and a CBS special on the Eco Hollywood Event, which is soon to come. Odina Round #1 for Swoop Magazine

Swoop Round 1 located at Sangria was just a taste of what round 2 is going to be. Haley Kiss seen here is one of the finalists for the calendar issue. Although this was a night with a last minute venue change it still brought out a full house. The Odina Swimsuits came out with style, to the left Cove Girl bottoms with our new color Odina Berry as a base color, and that beautiful reclaimed fabric Lusea as an amazing accent, to make any girl runway status. The top is our sporty In the Curl top made from the Lusea fabric. Featured next is Cammille Mitchell wearing the signature Odina Wave Catcher bottoms and the Solana top, with that amazing floral accent fabric. Odina in the Easy Reader!!

We've been getting some press out there! Here's an article from the Easy Reader featuring Odina swimsuits and an ad from the same issue. The article talks about our commitment to sustainable, functional and fashionable swimwear and expected trends in this season's clothes and accesories. We've got a few quotes in there from our very own Danielle Thorsen York! The ad is from a pic of Fillipa on the girls' recent trip to Hawaii. Filipa is wearing the In the Curl racerback top in Lusea fabric with brown straps. The bottom is a Cove Girl in Odinaberry with Lusea accent. Photos are slowly leaking out and look for a commercial filmed on location during the shoot coming soon!

Filippa Ripping!!

After being on the North Shore of Oahu for two weeks Filippa a Odina team rider became very comfortable with the powerful waves. Here she is surfing Log Cabins, just two breaks about a half mile away from the Bonzai Pipeline, ripping a turn after making a heavy drop. Love (for Odina) is in the Air

It's that day of the year made for professing your love. Well, here at Odina, we are loving our new spring line. We are gearing up for its release in March, and we think you are just going to love all the new colors and styles. You may have seen a preview of it in Bamboo Magazine. Women's Surf Style Magazine also posted info about our line in their industry news. We have a few other things in the pipeline, but you'll just have to stay tuned to find out more.

In other news, I also wanted to personally thank everyone who voted for me in the NYC Midnight Tweet Me a Story contest. Because of everyone who voted, I won the contest! This is my first win for a writing contest, and I'm totally stoked. So thank you, thank you, thank you for voting. (And if you didn't get a chance to read my 140-character story, check it out here. I'm the Audience Choice winner.)

We haven't blogged in a while, and sorry about that, but things are starting to heat up here at Odina! We launched our spring/summer 2011 line and have been shipping orders out to Hawaii! Odina Girl Hula

A Team Effort

One of the great things about Odina is that we have such an amazing team behind the product. We are all very passionate about Odina and its success, and we want to share our passion with the world. That's why you will start to notice other Odina team members start to post their own blog posts on the official Odina Swimwear blog. These team members include our director, our designer, our team rep/photographer/surfer aficianado, our operations manager/surfer aficianado, and some of our Odina Girls (the beautiful ladies you see on our site and elsewhere sporting Odina swimwear). And of course you'll get to hear plenty from me, your loyal director of communications.

You may have seen that Aaron posted on the blog about our surf team of Odina Girls just the other week. The Odina Girls' bios are now posted on the website. Just go to "About Us" and then "The Team" to read all about our impressive four-member team.

Right now the Odina staff has been busy at work with one of our newest ventures. It is going to bring our mission of sustainability to a whole new level, and we can't wait to share it with you. So stay tuned for that big announcement sometime later this week.

The Face of Odina

Odina, the face of eco-fashion, has built a solid surf team to stand behind its amazing suits. The team has been working with our designer to make sure that these suits hold up under big waves as well as fit and feel amazing. Two of the team riders come from the big island of Hawaii and surf on a regular basis.



Alison Teal, residing on the big island, is traveling the world working on a T.V. series exploring the more unknown places of the world as well as surfing some unknown spots. She is known as Pinkie because of her all pink surfboard made by San Diego shaper Ned McMahon who also works for Malama foam composites. These foams are based from soy and the manufacturing is done under the most eco-conscious techniques to reduce waste and harsh chemical outputs.

Allie Brown also from the big island, now lives in Encinitas, California, and surfs most commonly just down the street from her house on her 5'10 Synergy surfboard. Synergy being one of the greenest boards in the water, made from 100% recycled EPS foam, bamboo-based fiberglass, bio-based resin, and recycled plastic fins. Southern California hosts some great waves on the right day.

Meghan Dambacher is one of the team riders living in San Diego as well as surfing in Solana Beach. One of the founders of the non-profit Rerip.org, she spends her time promoting sustainability in the action sports industry, organizing surfboard recycling programs, as well as working a center for kids and getting them active in the community.

Filippa Ferrara, our youngest team rider, but one of our most driven, enters surfing contests up and down the coast of California and is starting to plan her trips abroad. She just recently got back from a trip to Nico surfing with Holly Beck and a few other South Bay rippers. Currently in between board sponsors, Filippa is actually riding a board she shaped herself, a fun little fish hybrid that seems to be making barrels for her.
